How Many People Does A 20 Inch Pizza Feed?

I’d love to say that my answer to the question, “How many people does a 20 inch pizza feed?” is simple. But it’s really not, because each person’s appetite is different! My answer truly depends on the type of people eating the pizza, how much the individual likes the pizza, and what other food is being served.

I’m no pizza expert, but I’m no stranger to feeding a crowd. Over the years, I’ve made an art out of feeding groups of family and friends of all sizes on a budget. And while I’m still learning about the nuances of pizza sizes, shapes, and ingredients, I have experienced several occasions where a 20-inch pizza proved to be plenty of food.

Answer: 5 to 8 people

On pizza night at my house, I usually go with a 20-inch pizza and, depending on who is coming, I can usually estimate how much will be eaten. Well, four of us in my family are what I might call “fairly normal” eaters. So, it’s no surprise that this size of pizza does the job. When each of us enjoy two slices, with some leftovers, we commonly don’t need to worry about supplementing with other sides or additional pizzas.

I’ve used the 20-inch pizza trustfully in many of my gatherings and all of them have gone off without a hitch. Most recently, I hosted our board game club at my house for pizza night. I had no idea how many people show up but I ordered a 20-inch pizza and it was the perfect amount for 15 people.

While everyone had different flavors and toppings, they all seemed to share the same opinion: the pizza was delicious. There were just a few pieces left over and no one went home hungry! Even those who snuck extra slices had plenty of pizza to fill them up.

16-inch1612-145-6

Of course, it’s important to mention that there are a few types of people who might need more than one 20-inch pizza. Out of my experience, pizza night with heavy eaters could require multiple pizzas. I’m thinking about those friends of mine who always order two or three slices and then enjoy a few more before the night is over. That can add up to quite a few slices of pizza!

In this case, I recommend stocking up on a few different pizzas so that no one leaves still hungry. Alternatively, you could increase the size to an even bigger 26-inch pizza in order to make sure you have enough for everyone.

Now, let’s talk about our heavy pizza eaters and the occasional pizza craving. For them, a 20-inch pizza just won’t cut it no matter what size their party is. To avoid regularly feeding a hungry crowd, I always make sure to order extra just in case.

Oh, also I recently wrote a fantastic article about Wendy’s coffee. Whenever you find the time, give it a read. If I’m serving pizza for a smaller crowd of 6 or less, I usually land on a 16-inch pizza. But if I’m unsure of the appetite of my guests, I always go for the 20-inch version. I also try to provide a few sides like chips, nuts, and salad.

I think the key to successful pizza night is serving something that everyone can enjoy. But it’s also important to be mindful of people’s appetites so that you don’t waste food or risk running out. By considering all of these factors, I’m sure you can figure out the right size for your house.

The bottom line: one 20-inch pizza can feed many of my friends and family, but it definitely might not be enough for those who really have a hankering for pizza. To be sure I’m equipped to feed everyone at my pizza party, I always make sure to over-estimate my 20-inch pizza portions by a few slices, just in case.

How many slices in a 20 inch pizza?

Nowadays, sometimes it can seem like the size of pizzas has been getting bigger and bigger. With the increased size of pizzas we’ve all had the same question cross our minds: How many slices are in a 20 inch pizza? Well, today I’m going to answer that age-old conundrum.

For starters, let’s talk size. A 20 inch pizza is HUGE. It’s one of the biggest pizzas out there, and could easily feed the whole family. In fact, just the other week when my extended family was visiting for a birthday, we placed an order for an extra-large 20 incher, and it was plenty of pizza for everyone, with plenty of leftovers too.

I’ve penned a fantastic article discussing whether peach cobbler should be refrigerated. Take a look whenever you get a chance.

We knew that this particular topping-heavy pizza was going to be a handful to slice and dish out! So the question was, how many slices are in this pizza?

In my experiences with 20 inch pizzas, it really depends on the size of the slices. If you’re looking for a decent-sized slice, most people typically get around 12-13 slices from a 20 inch pizza, for a total of 164-168 square inches of pizza pie. However, if you want to get a bit more creative, you could always make smaller, thinner slices for a party, picnic, or other occasion. In that case, you can get anywhere from 18-26 slices per 20 inch pie.

But what’s the difference between a regular-sliced and a thin-sliced pizza anyway? Well, it all comes down to the cooking method. For regular slices, the pizza is cooked at a lower heat for a longer period of time, which results in a thicker, crispier, and more filling slice. On the flip side, thin-sliced pizzas are cooked at a higher heat for a shorter period of time which yields a smaller, flatter and more doughy texture.

My best advice? When it comes to 20 inch pizzas, size does matter. The smaller the slices, the more pizza you can get out of it. Plus, with smaller slices, you can cater to more people, and give everyone an equal share. So it’s important to consider how you plan on slicing your pizza before ordering.

No matter how you slice it, a 20 inch pizza offers a lot of pizza-eating possibilities. When I’m looking to feed a larger crowd, I like to split the pizza into several regular-sized slices for an easy meal. But if you want something a bit more creative, you could always try your hand at a thin-sliced pizza, which is just as filling and delicious.

How many slices in a 20-inch pizza big john’s?

Oki doki, it’s time to get serious about pizza!

For those of you who don’t know, Big John’s Pizza is a family-run business located in the heart of the Midwest US. Although they’re a relatively new restaurant, they’ve already garnered a ton of local attention and have become a favorite amongst Midwestern pizza-lovers.

So, what’s the answer to our burning question? How many slices come in a 20” Big John’s pizza? The answer might surprise you, as it did me: The standard 20” Big John’s Pizza will yield 18-22 slices, depending on how you cut it.

After doing some research in preparation for this article, I stumbled across this awesome tidbit on Big John’s official website: “Big John’s special “triple cut” technique sets us apart from most pizza places! We cut our pizzas into 6 small slices, then cut those pieces into thirds to make 18 delicious slices of pizza!”

Herein lies the key to understanding how many slices you’ll get out of a 20” Big John’s pizza. The technique requires making a traditional three-cut in the pizza – right down the middle and then also cutting each half into thirds. This yields 6 large slices and then 3 smaller slices per half. Then, if you cut those 6 large pieces into thirds, you’re left with 18 nicely portioned slices.

I wanted to put this triple-cut technique to the test, so I decided to purchase a 20” Big John’s pizza for myself. After picking up my pizza, I immediately noticed that it was much bigger than the standard 20” pizzas I was used to. As advertised, it easily yielded around 18-20 slices using the triple cut technique.

I was really impressed with the size of the pizza and the plethora of toppings it came with. There was a generous topping of pepperoni, vegetables, jalapenos (on another note, if you’re wondering how many jalapenos make up a pound, I’ve actually written a fantastic article. Feel free to check it out whenever you get a chance) and cheese spread across the entire pizza. It was truly a feast for my eyes  and my stomach!

On a side note, I don’t think I need to tell you that Big John’s pizza tasted delicious. Not to toot my own horn, but I threw a pizza party and it was a complete success! My guests scarfed down slices of this gooey, delicious pizza and went home with extremely full bellies and big smiles on their faces.

To wrap up, Big John’s 20” pizza definitely lives up to its unique name. Its larger-than-life size yields up to 22 quickly fractioned slices. While the typical three cut technique yield 18 slices, you can also opt for larger pieces – making it an ideal choice for hungry party guests.
